What’s a Criterium?
A criterium or “crit race” is a popular format of professional or amateur cycling races. It consists of a short circuit race route (typically 1 mile long), with many cyclists completing laps in close quarters at a very high speed. Typical criteriums last about 1 hour per category of racer.
These races test the technical skills of the riders, especially their ability to complete sharp turns while maintaining a high speed. Crit races are a thrilling spectacle, and you can have a close-up view of the action while enjoying the food, drinks, music, and vendors inside the Velorama Festival – one big RiNo party.
