1:45 pm to 2:30 pm – ATHLETES WITH DISABILITIES CITIZEN’S RIDE, HOSTED BY ARROW

The bicycle transforms lives and empowers people with mobility.   Here we celebrate athletes with disabilities of all ages with a citizen ride using adaptive bicycles — such as tandem cycles for blind riders and hand cycles for paraplegics.  The race will be lead by the Arrow SAM Car, a modified 2014 Corvette C7 Stingray that can be driven only by head movements.  The car was developed by Arrow for pro race car driver, Sam Schmidt, who had become a quadriplegic after a serious race accident and was told by doctors he’d never drive again.  Using this car, Sam now competes in several races around the country including the Pikes Peak Challenge.  Our citizen ride will be on the Colorado Classic criterium.  Produced in partnership with the National Sport Center for the Disabled (NSCD) and Craig Hospital.
